I moved too quickly and payed the price. How can I stop doing this?

Well, this question was asked at chess.com: a player who has played many games and all tables but in all of them very evenly I have always had a slight advantage, he thinks his mistake is that he moves very fast and he asks me for advice which answer him this way:

My advice, the candidate plays of GM Kotov, `we will put that there are 3 possible good plays, for discards and for your knowledge, value each line and write it in the notebook of the game. And when you have calculated the three lines, think which one puts more problems so that the opponent fails or does not find the good ones. Little by little your calculation will improve and it will be slower to move.
